This Refund & Service Fee Policy explains the platform service fee charged by Hunter.Lease, operated by Cargwin LLC (a licensed California auto broker, DMV license #21138; we are not a dealership). It tells you exactly what the service fee is, when it is refunded, when it is not, and how to request a refund. This is the controlling document for the service fee. If anything in our Terms & Conditions, the checkout screen, or any other page appears to say something different about the service fee, this Refund & Service Fee Policy governs.
To submit your exact requested terms to a dealer, we charge the platform service fee shown at checkout (currently $95). The amount shown to you on the checkout screen is the amount that controls if it differs. The exact amount is displayed clearly before you pay, and you confirm it at checkout.
The service fee pays for our work on your deal. The moment you place the fee, the dealer accepts your deal automatically: they prepare an official, exact-terms quote, and we lock the price and terms you asked for. It is processed securely through Stripe; we do not store your card number, and this is a one-time charge with no subscription and no future automatic charges.
The service fee is the only amount you pay to Hunter.Lease. Our broker fee is normally paid by the selling dealer, not by you. We will never add a separate charge to you without disclosing it to you in writing and getting your agreement first.
Any time before you sign the contract at the dealer, the service fee is refunded in full on your request, for any reason, including simply changing your mind. You do not need to give a reason.
Separately, we guarantee a full refund in each of these cases, even when you were ready to sign:
In short: before you sign the contract, the fee comes back on your request, and the guarantees above apply no matter what.
If you order a car we do not have in inventory (a request to source another brand), the same $95 service fee starts our brokerage search for the vehicle you describe. The same Section 2 rules apply: if we cannot source a vehicle that matches your request, you get the full service fee back. Once we present a vehicle on your requested terms and you proceed, the standard Section 2 and Section 3 rules apply from there.
Once you sign the contract at the dealer, the service fee is considered earned and applied to your deal, so it is not refunded. Signing means the price and terms we locked for you are accepted by both you and the dealer, and the work you paid for is fully done. Until that moment you can request a refund at any time under Section 2.
We will not treat the service fee as non-refundable based on our say-so alone. The fee becomes earned only by the fact of your signing at the dealer, and the Section 2 guarantees are judged against the written terms the dealer confirmed, so you can see from your own records why the fee was or was not refunded.
To request a refund, contact us at hello@hunter.lease or +1 (279) 208-5707 and tell us the email and phone number you used. As long as you have not signed the contract, no reason is required. There is no form to fight through; a message to us is enough.
When your refund qualifies under Section 2, we issue it to the original card through Stripe, normally within a few business days of your request. The exact time it appears on your statement depends on your bank.
We will confirm by email when the refund is issued.
Nothing in this policy takes away your right to dispute a charge with your card issuer. If you ever believe the service fee was charged or kept in error, you can raise it with your bank.
We ask only that you contact us first at hello@hunter.lease or +1 (279) 208-5707 before filing a chargeback. In almost every case we can resolve a service fee question faster directly with you than a chargeback can, and it keeps your records and ours in sync. Reaching out to us first is a request, not a condition, and it does not limit your rights.
The service fee is a single, one-time charge. There is no subscription, no recurring billing, no free trial that converts to a paid plan, and we do not store your card to charge it again later. If our product ever changes to include any recurring charge, we will disclose it clearly and get your separate consent before charging.
The service fee is charged by, and refunds are issued by, Cargwin LLC (dba Hunter.Lease), a licensed California auto broker, DMV license #21138.
